Amazon Go is a new kind of store with no checkout required. Amazon has created the world’s most advanced shopping technology so you never have to wait in line. With its Just Walk Out Shopping experience, simply use the Amazon Go app to enter the store, take the products you want, and go! No lines, no checkout. (No, seriously.)

 

To walk in, you need a few things: an Amazon account, a recent smartphone, and the Amazon Go app.

The second you’re inside the Seattle branch (the first launched to date), Amazon begins tracking your movements. Every drink or bag of chips you take off a shelf is added to a “virtual” shopping cart. The store’s system knows if you pick something up and put it back.

You can find shelves that are primarily stocked with packaged and pre-made foods from Amazon meal kits, sandwiches, snacks and basics like flour and coffee beans. You can grab a souvenir mug with the store’s motto, “Just walk out shopping.”

Amazon has always tried to revolutionized the way you shop, from its state of the art eCommerce platform all the way to its innovative delivery & supply chain system. And the Amazon Go store is just another pointer of how the world can look like in the future  when the Digital & Physical world combine to provide a unique experience.
